An encounter with the highest cold-water geyser in the world.
The Andernach geyser is the highest cold-water geyser in the world with an ejection height of around 50 to 60 meters. It is located on the Namedyer Werth, a peninsula in the Rhine near Andernach in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Mayen-Koblenz and was first drilled in 1903.
Marksburg Castle is the only hilltop castle on the Middle Rhine that has never been destroyed!
Here between Bingen and Koblenz, an area that has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, there is or was a castle on average every 2.5 km - over 40 are still more or less preserved!
