The Rittersturz circuit is a moderately difficult hiking route with mostly easy paths. You will need just under 5 hours to complete the 17.2 km route.
We start at Koblenz main station. This is about 500 m away from our hotel.
After approx. 4.6 km, you will reach the Rittersturz viewpoint near Koblenz. From here, you have a fantastic view to Koblenz-Stolzenfels on the left bank of the Rhine. On the right bank of the Rhine, you can see as far as Marksburg Castle near Braubach.
Another highlight is the Königsbachtal valley, through which you hike. And you also have a wonderful view of the Rhine Valley on the rest of the route.
Before heading back along the Rhine towards Koblenz, you can catch a glimpse of Stolzenfels Castle and the Rhine Valley.
You can find the exact route here.
When you arrive, please note the changed traffic routing due to the expansion of Südallee until September 2025.
