Our short trip proposal is perfect for all hiking and nature lovers who want to experience the Rheinsteig and discover the historic city of Koblenz at the same time. In combination with a comfortable stay at the Hotel Brenner, your weekend will be an experience full of relaxation, adventure and cultural highlights. Let us inspire you:
You arrive in Koblenz in the afternoon and check into the Hotel Brenner. After settling in and a quick refreshment, the first adventure awaits you: a walk through the old town. Explore the charming alleyways, impressive buildings and, of course, the famous Deutsches Eck, where the Rhine and Moselle rivers meet. From here, you have the option of taking the cable car to the imposing Ehrenbreitstein Fortress - a real highlight with panoramic views over Koblenz and the surrounding river landscape.
End the evening in comfort at the hotel, where a delicious dinner awaits you. Recharge your batteries for the day of hiking ahead.
After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, it's time to set off: the "Traumpfad Waldschluchtenweg" circular hiking trail is just a short drive away in Vallendar. This popular hiking trail offers pure nature and is also part of the Rheinsteig trail. The hike starts at the Feisternachbachtal parking lot (L309) and takes you through dense forests, past impressive rocky cliffs and idyllic clearings.
An absolute highlight of the route is the Limes Wall, a relic from Roman times that will delight history buffs. The route continues up to the Saustallkopf before leading you downhill into the Feisternachtbach valley. A stream and a small lake with a hut make the idyllic landscape perfect. After around 3:30 hours and 11.1 km, you will reach the starting point again, filled with the experiences of this nature adventure.
Back at the hotel, you can enjoy a relaxed dinner and reflect on the impressions of the day.
Well fortified after a final breakfast at the hotel, you set off on the second stage: the shorter but equally rewarding "Sayner Aussichten dream trail". This is located in Bendorf and starts at the parking lot at Koblenz-Olper-Straße 167, where you hike through historic and natural landscapes, past Sayn Castle, the picturesque Sayn Castle and Sayn Abbey. Along the way, you will find other highlights such as the Heins Mühle mill and the Sayn climbing forest, which will enhance your tour.
The numerous viewpoints in particular make the trail unforgettable - a must for anyone who wants to experience the beauty of the Rhineland up close. After around 2 hours and 6.1 km, you will happily return to the starting point.
After an eventful short trip, you will return home relaxed and in a good mood. The combination of hiking on the dream trails of the Rheinsteig and the comfort of the Hotel Brenner make for a perfect weekend that will live long in the memory.
Book your hiking trip to the Hotel Brenner - and experience the Rheinsteig up close!
